As such, we produce quality printed T-Shirts in Kenya for all budgets, ranging from cheap T-Shirts for events and promotions to high quality uniform T-Shirts.
The methods we use for branding and printing T-Shirts in Kisumu include; screen printing, heat transfer, sublimation, Direct to Garment (DTG) printing, vinyl printing, no cut printing and embroidery. The suitability of each of these methods depend on the fabric used, complexity of the design, number of colors, quantities involved, turnaround time and budget.
- Screen Printing – Here, we transfer stenciled designs into a flat surface using a mesh screen, paint and a squeegee. Once we create a stencil on a fine mesh screen, we push ink through it using the squeegee to imprint your design on the surface below. Screen printing gives bold colors and designs that last long on cotton fabrics. Given the process and cost of generating stencil designs for each color, however, screen printing is not recommended for small orders. At Behira Garments, we have 4 eight head screen printing machines with the capacity of 24 hour operations making us ideal for your bulk T-shirt printing needs.
- Heat Transfer – The process involves printing a design into a specialty paper called heat transfer paper using inkjet or laser printer, then placing the printed paper against the T-Shirt and applying heat by pressing it using a heat press machine. Afterwards, when you peel off the paper, the image remains beautifully embedded into the fabric. Heat transfers work well with light or dark T-Shirts, and cotton or polyester fabrics. We mostly use this method for small runs of printing colored images on T-Shirts in Kenya.
- Sublimation – Almost similar to heat transfer but in this case, when heat is applied using the heat press machine, the ink initially printed into the sublimation paper turns into gas that embeds itself into the fabric and upon cooling goes back to solid, becoming a permanent part of the fabric. Unlike heat transfer, the sublimation image adds no layer between the printed image and the fabric making it have a seamless feel that is permanent. However, sublimation works best on white and light colored polyester fabrics only.
- Direct to Garment (DTG) Printing – We print fabrics using inkjet technology more like the ones used on paper but now using DTG printers that print on fabrics. Unlike screen printing, this relatively new technology allows us to print full color images and designs into T-Shirts at no set up costs making it feasible to service small orders. The DTG Printers have evolved to provide bold images with neat edges and high quality levels of detail.
- Vinyl Printing – Here, we use vinyl material to create graphics into the T-Shirt. The vinyl design is contour cut using a plotting machine, weeded out and then heat pressed onto the fabric.
